Student Support & Conduct

The Office of Student Support and Conduct works with the Ƶcommunity to identify and support students in distress or address disruptive student behaviour.

Supporting Students in Distress

Faculty and staff concerned about a student

Faculty or staff members may be the first to notice a student who is experiencing difficulty or distress. When distress interferes with a student’s ability to focus on their courses, they may require additional support. When encountering students who appear to be struggling, faculty, staff and other students make their best efforts to provide direct support to these individuals and, where appropriate, make referrals to campus services.

For more information on how to best help a student, faculty and staff members should review the .

Students concerned about a fellow student

Students who are worried about a fellow Ƶ student can speak with a trusted staff or faculty member for help, or refer their friend to supports and resources at the College.

Student Conduct

The office works collaboratively with students, faculty and campus partners, to help resolve disputes in a restorative and respectful manner. Our office receives and processes student conduct complaints while offering consulting and advising to faculty and staff regarding potential (and/or actual) student conduct cases and incidents. We meet with students to resolve student conduct incidents and answer their questions about the student conduct process. Where possible our goal is to help student's learn from conduct incidents. To that end we may provide guidance, referral for support, case management or educational resources that can help students gain insights into their conduct. Additionally, we train and educate staff, faculty, and students about the student conduct process and student rights and responsibilities. Our goal is to foster an environment that is safe, supportive, inclusive, fair, and conducive to learning.
