EDGE

EDGE is a social, action-packed event for new students. Students have the opportunity to make friends and explore the campus in an interactive way. This event involves setting up with a team and getting to know your peers, fun and challenging team-building activities and games. This event is designed to help new students feel confident in the college community and more comfortable adjusting to college life. 

EDGE for Fall 2024 will be held in mid-September. All new students are welcome to sign-up for the participation. Details and date will be announced soon.

Apply to become an Edge Leader! APPLY BY JULY 15th 2024!

We want YOU! 

We are recruiting enthusiastic student leaders to help new students in their transition to Ƶ. If you’re looking for a rewarding and fun way to give back and help us welcome students to Ƶ, join us as an EDGE Leader! 

Preference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in leadership and volunteer positions at Ƶ and those who plan on continuing their studies in the Fall 2024. However, all students are encouraged to apply! 

As an EDGE Leader, you will:  

  • Lead a group of 20 new students (with a partner) or facilitate large groups of students through team-building activities and fun challenges 

  • Create an inclusive and safe environment for new students 

  • Encourage students and get involved 

What’s in it for you?  

Besides meeting new people and having a blast, you will receive swag, leadership training and be someone students will always remember! 

  • July 15: Applications for EDGE Leader deadline

  • July 30–Aug. 1: Group Interviews

  • Aug. 8, 1–4:30pm: EDGE Leader Training (mandatory)

  • Sept. 20: EDGE Day

New Student Campus Tours

In-person tours for new students

Starting classes on campus for the first time? Continue your orientation journey in person by attending our campus tours. Campus tours will be offered during the orientation sessions and during the first week of classes at both campuses. Connect with Student Life (studentlife@douglascollege.ca) to sign up for an in-person tour of the New Westminster or Coquitlam Campus. Familiarize yourself with where your classes are located, where you can find student services and more.

Prefer to explore the campus virtually? Take a virtual 360º campus tour and visit from the comfort of your home.
